Fairy Tea Party
Mrs Ferguson was delighted to receive a letter this week from 6 year old Darcy asking to host a Fairy Tea Party with her classmates. Darcy was very prepared and included a shopping list and a guest list!
Darcy’s shopping list included milk, bread, sprinkles, butter and knives. She said:
“I cut the fairy bread into squares. A square has four corners and four sides that are all the same size.
The other kids in my class cut them into triangles. They did diagonal cuts.”
We love empowering our tamariki to take a lead in their learning – here are some of our students making fairy bread and learning shapes and fractions by cutting their kai into triangles, halves and quarters.
