School Newsletter: Week 6, Term 2 2021
Tēnā koutou ngā whānau o Te Kura o Motueka/Allandale School.
Tracey Watson, one our amazing Teacher Aides has been working with groups from the Middle School on persuasive writing. Diamond, Kaisha and Elena all had great opinions of whether children should have cellphones or not.
The children from Room 6 were lucky enough to get their own library book bags. These were lovingly made by Ms G’s mother out of duvet covers and recycled fabrics.
Thank you
Allandale School recently purchased a new ride-on-mower from Chainsaws and Mowers Whakatane so Koro Pat can keep our fields and green spaces looking sharp. Chainsaws and Mowers Whakatane and Husqvarna have kindly donated a 2021 Husqvana lawnmower for the tricky areas.
Tamariki and their safety
It is a school rule that if your child is bringing a bike or scooter to school that they have a helmet. If they do not, they will not be allowed to take their scooter or bike home. We will look after them here at school and it can be collected when they have their helmet. This may seem harsh but the safety of our tamariki is the most important thing and we appreciate your support in this.
Sports News
Over 20 of our tamariki competed in last week’s EBOP Rip World Cup. They proved to be Allandale Kind of Kids with their attitudes, behaviour and sportsmanship. It was also great to have support from several whanau members.
Yesterday’s Inter Schools Cross Country was a great success. We have several children who will now be competing at EBOP Cross Country in Opotiki next Thursday.

Netball has finished for the Future Ferns. They had a great season learning new skills and team spirit. Thank you so much to our coaches and managers as without your help we would not have been able to enter teams for the season.
