School Newsletter: Week 10, Term 2 2021
Kia ora e te whānau,
We have come to the end of Term 2. It has been a fun, busy term with the whole school visiting Mataatua Marae, winter sports, the Fun Run Fundraiser, and this week we had our Matariki celebrations. This included planting of new natives around the kura and Matariki performances by the tamariki. It was lovely to see whanau playing games with the children, staying for a picnic lunch and enjoying a sausage sizzle and the performances.
There has been a lot of illness towards the end of this term so we hope everyone has a well deserved two week break before we come back to school on Monday 26 July. We are having our powhiri on the first day of term for our new students, staff and principal Rikki Horlock and of course whanau are welcome to attend.
Winter Sport
Congratulations to our Allandale Hinekura Netball Team who won Best Uniform for the 2021 Netball Season. These uniforms were purchased after lots of fundraising during Term 1 of this year.
The girls also came 3rd place in the competition this year. Well done Hinekura. What an awesome season you have had.
