School Newsletter Week 7, Term 1
Kia ora e te whānau,
Thank you for the support and aroha over the past weeks. Reviewing our schoolwide response to COVID is an ongoing process. This week our senior leadership team reviewed our response to COVID and this will be further discussed with the Board of Trustees on Monday. We will share any potential changes with you all on Tuesday with the goal to implement on Wednesday if decided. Thank you also to those of you who are letting us know when there is a positive case / within the household. If you can continue to do so that would be fantastic.
As a result of everyone’s diligence in this area for the first time in a few weeks we had 100% of teachers at school today which we are super proud of.
The Breakfast Club, Fruit in Schools and School Lunch programmes are up and running and we are putting together a plan to better support whānau needing a bit of aroha in terms of kai at home starting this coming Wednesday.
Big thank you to Becs MacKay and friends for organising the half-pipe which can be seen in front of the school hall. Tau kē Becs.
We may be having a TOD on Monday the 28th of March and will confirm this with you all on Monday. It is difficult to engage with Structured Literacy at any time of the year given the popularity of the programme and there may be an opportunity available for us on the 28th – we will let you know.
Please continue to encourage tamariki/whānau to bring water bottles & hats and if your tamariki are working from home at present please continue to communicate with his / her kaiako via SeeSaw / FB or call the front office.
Take care whanau.
Matua Rikki
Rippa Rugby
We have informed whānau that we made the tough decision to pull our teams out of Rippa Rugby this season. Refunds will be coming home with tamariki today, or when they return to school.
Soccer 2022
If you would like your child to play soccer this year, registrations are due. We have paper copies at our office or you can go onto our Facebook page, where you will find the link to fill out the registration form online. Registration and payment is due next Tuesday 22nd of March.
School Housekeeping
We are still providing face masks to children but they are welcome to bring their own from home.
Drink bottles - please ensure that your child has their drink bottle with water every day as our fountains are still closed in Phase 3.
Please name all uniform as we are coming across a lot of unnamed jerseys and shoes.
Hats are part of our school uniform for Terms 1 and 4.
The school pool is open so it's a good idea to bring togs every day. Our pool is heated using solar power so hopefully we can swim until the end of this term.
Helmets need to be worn when riding a scooter or bike to school. If tamariki don’t have their helmet with them after school, they will not be able to ride their bike/scooter home.
This term the Middle Team have been learning about Native Birds as part of their Inquiry. They have been doing some amazing art along with their learning.
