School Newsletter: Week 7, Term 3 2021
Kia ora e te whānau,
I hope everyone has had a great week! Reconnecting (kanohi ki te kanohi) with tamariki and staff over the past couple of days at Alert Level 2 has been great.
We appreciate whānau following the rules for Allandale School at Level 2 and encourage everyone to continue to do so in order to keep our tamariki safe from COVID. Reminder: Parents please drop off and collect tamariki from the gates. We have hand sanitizer available and have rostered staff at each gate in the mornings next week (8.15am – 8.40am).
We will be starting Breakfast Club again from 8.00am – 8.30am this coming Monday the 13th of September. Staff only will serve kai and we will have 3 tables set up for the different teams tamariki are part of (Junior, Middle, Senior) with the standard hand sanitising and social distancing rules applying.
Staff have been managing the Road Patrol but tamariki will be taking over on Monday. We will take all precautions ie. masks, social distancing etc and if any parents of our road patrollers have any concerns please contact the school office / Whaea Teresa.
There is a small rule change in regards to scooters also whānau. If your child is participating in an out of school activity ie. sports day they are not to bring scooters (or any wheels) to school on that particular day. We’re also looking at the systems around our scooter shed.
Have a great weekend.
Matua Rikki
Contact Details
Most of our whānau would have received an email asking for your tamariki’s contact details to be updated. If you didn’t receive this email, it may be that we don’t have your email address in our records.
We are finding email is another great way to communicate with whānau, especially in situations like Covid Lockdowns. You can email learnalot@allandale.school.nz or ring Kleesha on 308 7645 to update your email address.
Exciting News - Senior Camp
Our fundraising efforts, donations and funding applications have paid off and been hugely successful for our Senior Team Camp. We have collectively raised all costs associated with this year's camp - a whopping amount of just over $30,000.00. Therefore, in alignment with the feedback we received from whanau earlier this year, we are excited to announce that our Senior Team will be attending camp at Tui Ridge Park in Rotorua from Monday, November 29th - Wednesday, December 1st.
Unfortunately with Covid there are no out of school activities this term but we already have a few things penciled in for Term 4. Next term is only 9 weeks long and there is a lot to fit in those 9 weeks. This includes our Year 6’s getting ready to move onto Intermediate!
