School Newsletter Week 9 Term 2
Kia ora e te whānau,
Hope everyone is well.
COVID-19:
At this stage we are at the Red setting and the next review of the traffic light settings are on the 4th of April.
Regardless of the review the following will apply here at Allandale School starting Tuesday the 5th of April:
- removal of any outdoor capacity limits at all colours of the framework
- increased capacity limits when indoors at Red, moving from 100 to 200 (but still allowing for one-metre spacing) and no capacity limits indoors at Orange and Green
- no requirement to display QR codes at any setting (but we’ll be ready to use them again in the future)
- no need to have alternate check-in systems for COVID-19 beyond our usual visitor register processes
- no mask requirements when outdoors (but masks remain a requirement indoors for staff and children/students in Years 4-6 whenever we are at Red), additionally, masks are strongly encouraged to be worn at Orange.
Throughout March whānau confirmed with us the following amount of positive COVID cases:
- First week of March = 10
- Second week of March = 24
- Third week of March = 18
- Fourth week of March = 27
- This week = 10
It’s nice to see the number of positive COVID cases slowly decreasing.
In regards to attendance throughout March the lowest attendance we had was 101 and today we have 217 so the number of tamariki returning to school is slowly increasing.
Papa Pat checks the air quality in each classroom every day. Although our ventilation levels are consistently under where we would be concerned we are now exploring the idea of air purifiers in each class (we’ll see how we go - fingers x).
We will continue to keep the safety of tamariki at the forefront of our decisions and are very much looking forward to opening up the school more on Tuesday.
Have a great weekend whānau.
Ngā mihi
Matua Rikki
